HOW TO GET RID OF MICE

Publish Time: 2022-02-26     Origin: Site

If you see rats or signs of rats in your home, vehicle or workplace, you need to prepare and implement an eradication plan. A rat infestation can be dangerous to your family and pets.

First, a mouse is an animal, and animals bite and scratch, especially if they feel threatened. Second, mice carry diseases that humans and other animals can contract. We’ve covered the viruses and bacteria mice carry in our post, “Do Mice Carry Diseases?” They also indirectly transmit other illnesses through ticks and fleas. In addition, mice can wreak havoc on a home. They contaminate food and chew wood, particle board, insulation, wiring, etc. They can even spark fires by damaging electrical wires.

Here, we'll discuss how to tell if your home or work area is infected with rats, and how to get rid of rats in your home

Signs of a mouse infestation

Even if you have mice, you may not see one. Seeing a mouse is an indication of an advanced infestation. Mice are nocturnal, and they tend only to venture out into the open when they don’t think any other animals are around. You’re most likely to see a mouse when you’re sitting completely still. Your dog or cat is likely to sense mice before you do. If you notice them behaving strangely or sniffing excessively around the wall or a cupboard, they may have detected an unwanted critter. A few obvious signs of mice are:

Dead mice

Scratching sounds in your walls

Pungent odor (mouse urine smell)

Mice like to live in dark, hidden places. You could have mice in the attic, the basement, or within the walls, floors, and ceilings. Even if nobody sees, hears, or smells them, they leave behind many signs of their presence, including:

Holes in food bags and boxes.

Pet food left out overnight might disappear.

Grease trails.

House mice carry some very dangerous bacteria, such as Salmonella, E. coli, Shigella, and Clostridium difficile, which can cause gastrointestinal disease. They also carry diseases such as lymphocytic choriomeningitis, leptospirosis, and are known to be infected with rat bite fever. That's why it's so important to get rid of mice in your home

Let's talk about how to get rid of mice

For example using traps. It is important to continue to maintain hygiene and exclusion behaviors even after the rat has been eliminated. The best control is prevention. Keeping food scraps to a minimum and making sure rats can't get into your house are good precautions.

Sanitation

One of the most important things you can do is to clean up. A clean home is a great mouse deterrent. If mice don’t think they can find food in or around your house, they’re unlikely to come in.

Glue trapslike the TOPONE Mouse Glue Trap Bait are easy to use. Simply place the trap in the rodent area where the floor meets the wall (as indicated by rodent signs such as hair, droppings, or damage). The glue trap has a low profile so the rodent doesn't become suspicious when it encounters the trap - it continues through it as if it were an extension of the floor. Once the rodent comes into contact with the glue, it becomes entangled and cannot free itself. Rodents eventually suffocate to death.
