Russian National Day

On June 12, 1990, the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation adopted and issued a declaration of sovereignty, declaring that Russia was independent from the Soviet Union. This day was designated as National Day by Russia.

Before the festival, the streets will be decorated with national flags and other national symbols. Some social organizations will distribute ribbons of red, white, and blue, which are the three colors of the national flag, on the streets. People usually tie these ribbons on the rearview mirror of a car. All residential areas will hold festival celebrations, exhibitions of folk handicrafts and modern art, and small concerts by celebrity and free artist groups will be held in the evening.

This festival has brought four consecutive days of holiday for Russians. Television stations will not hold National Day Galas, but major channels will broadcast some news about National Day. At the same time, Russia Day is also a youth festival, a festival for the young generation who move towards life in a democratic Russian country.
