Do Home Fragrances Help Repel Mosquitoes?

When people want to make their home smell nice, they often turn to scented candles, essential oils or other fragrance dispensers to create a cozy ambience — but can we use those same pleasant smells to ward off mosquitoes? Certain fragrances from nature (citronella, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus and lemongrass) have a way of keeping mosquitoes away albeit not for long periods of time. Though they maybe enough to deter mosquitoes locally, the fragrances aren’t typically as potent as they’d need to be to ward off bites entirely.

It will add up – but imagine the extra protection if you layer your methods and make your home a less appealing arena where mosquitoes don’t want to fight!
